Breast Augmentation
Dissatisfied with your body image due to small breasts? Consider a breast augmentation to improve the balance of your figure. Breast augmentation creates or re-establishes more normal breast proportions and sizes. Breast size is increased by surgically placing an implant under the breast and, usually, under the pectoralis muscle. This procedure also improves the projection of the breasts and can correct problems with asymmetry. Because breast augmentation does not correct sagging of the breasts, a mastopexy (or breast lift) may need to be performed in conjunction with the augmentation surgery to achieve your desired results. Both silicone and saline implants are available and Dr. Rechner will help you determine which best suits you.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
A breast lift restores the youthful shape and position of your breasts. Over time, your breasts will change due to aging, gravity, pregnancy and breastfeeding. These factors contribute to the loss of your skin's elasticity and subsequent sagging of your breasts. A breast lift corrects this excess sagging and establishes a more normal position of your breasts. Further, this procedure improves the contour of the breasts and usually reduces the size of the areola. Dr. Rechner may recommend breast implants, along with breast lift surgery, to obtain your desired results. Pregnancy and weight loss or gain can affect the results of a previous breast lift; therefore, we recommend that you wait to have a breast lift until after your family is completed and you are at a stable, desired weight. This outpatient surgery is done under general anesthesia.

Body
Abdominoplasty
Commonly known as the tummy tuck, abdominoplasty removes excess fat and skin, and tightens underlying abdominal muscles. This surgical procedure corrects a protruding abdomen and removes sagging abdominal skin, thereby improving body contour and enhancing your appearance in and out of clothing. Existing cesarean section scars are often revised during this surgery and some, but not all, stretch marks are removed. Abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia and is usually an outpatient surgery but may require a one-day hospital stay, depending on your medical history. Results are relatively permanent and visible almost immediately, however, weight gain and your fitness level can affect the long-term result.
Liposuction
Do you have an area on your body that you can't make look better regardless of how much you diet and exercise? You may be a candidate for liposuction. A fit and well-proportioned body can still have disproportionate contours from localized fat deposits. These fatty deposits can be hereditary and not necessarily due to a lack of weight control or exercise. Liposuction reshapes specific areas of the body by removing these localized fat deposits. It is not used to treat obesity and will not eliminate cellulite. The best candidates for liposuction are those within 30% of their ideal body weight, with good muscle tone and with skin elasticity. Liposuction requires very small incisions and is often performed in conjunction with other procedures, including abdominoplasty or breast reduction.

Face
Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)
Excess skin on the upper or lower eyelids can make you look tired or sad. While heredity and normal aging can cause the eyelids to droop, excision of this excess skin can restore a more youthful appearance to the face and "open up" your eyes. Usually cosmetic, this procedure may be covered by your medical insurance, especially if the amount of excess skin on the upper eyes obstructs your visual field. During your consult, Dr. Rechner will determine if you are a candidate for upper eyelid surgery. Lower eyelid surgery, however, is an elective cosmetic procedure that treats "bags" under the eyes or excess skin and wrinkling. These outpatient surgeries usually require IV sedation. Recovery time is short, but you may have bruising or swelling for 10-14 days following.
Facelift (Rhytidectomy)
Normal aging causes loss of skin elasticity, fullness and firmness in your face. Other factors that age your face are heredity, stress, gravity and environmental conditions. Together, they make you look tired and older than you feel. A facelift corrects sagging skin and restores fullness and firmness to your face, creating a more youthful and rested appearance. A facelift focuses on the area from your jaw line to below your eyes, smoothing the appearance of "jowls" and wrinkles in the middle of your face. Frequently, a neck lift or submental SAL (liposuction under the chin) will be performed at the same time to achieve your desired outcome. What's more, a neck lift is required to remove excess skin in the neck region, along with submental SAL to correct the excess fat deposits under your chin. Both procedures help restore a youthful chin line on profile.
Facial Rejuvenation
Over time, facial expressions and the normal aging process can cause wrinkles and creases that may make you look anxious, angry or tired when you are not. Many different procedures help soften the signs of normal aging, ranging from facial fillers, which plump up deep grooves in the folds around your nose and mouth, to chemical peels, which improve fine lines, to Botox, which helps smooth laugh lines and furrows in your brow. A consult with Dr. Rechner will determine the best procedure to meet your expectations.
Though you can't stop yourself from aging, many procedures allow you to look refreshed and more comfortable with your appearance. Ask Dr. Rechner about laser hair removal, microdermabrasion, skin care products and mineral makeup to complete your comprehensive skin care approach.
Forehead Lift
A brow lift may be needed to correct "heavy" eyebrows and excess skin of the upper eyelids not addressed by a blepharoplasty alone. Normal aging and heredity can cause the brow to sag, making you appear sad or tired. A brow lift will correct a sagging brow and smooth furrows across your forehead. This operation improves "frown lines" and the hooding of the upper eyelids, as well as raises the eyebrows for a more youthful and relaxed appearance. Incisions are usually concealed within the hairline. This surgery is done under general anesthesia or IV Sedation as an outpatient procedure.
